ANGOLA, IND. -- The Trine volleyball team lost their home opener to nationally ranked Hope College, by 3-1.

In the second set, Trine would start out by falling behind 7-4. Then senior Samantha Ihrie (Kendallville/East Noble) would step up for her turn to serve and bring the Thunder into a tie at eight. The teams would then trade points until freshman Sarah Toles (Kendallville/East Noble) came up in the rotation and led the team to a 13-11 lead. Trine would not relinguish that lead winning the set 25-19.
