ANGOLA, IND. -- The Trine women's soccer team were defeated by conference-leading Hope College by the score of 4-1.
The Flying Dutch tallied the first goal of the contest in just the fifth minute of the game when forward Grace Bubin took a pass in the box from Rachael Braginton and put it over senior goalkeeper Kristina Veljovic's (Valparaiso/Valparaiso) outstretched hands.
Following the goal, Trine's defense would tighten and hold Hope scoreless for the next 73 minutes of the game.
Down 2-0 in the 84th minute of the match, the Thunder would tally their lone goal of the game when senior Erica Hoot (Fort Wayne/Carroll) took advantage of a penalty kick attempt for her third goal of the season.
The Flying Dutch would score two more goals in the waning minutes of the match to give the final score of 4-1.
The Thunder will look to bounce back from the loss when they travel to Albion College on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 4:30 p.m.
