ANGOLA, IND. -- Schedule and other tournament information has been made available for Trine University softball's upcoming NCAA Regional, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater.
With their at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament this year the Thunder extend their streak to eleven consecutive appearances in an NCAA Regional. They will take on Coe College (Iowa) in their opening game of the tournament on Friday, May 11, with first pitch scheduled for noon Central Time. Host Wis.-Whitewater will take on Benedictine (Ill.) University in the other day one contest.
Trine ended the regular season with a 25-11 overall record and an 8-8 record in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA). The team enters the tournament with one of the most potent offenses in the country boasting top-five marks in team batting average (.396), doubles per game (2.41), home runs per game (1.38) and slugging percentage (.636). They lead the country by averaging 9.74 runs per game.
