Men's Golf Takes Second at Strimer Invitational



DELAWARE, Ohio—The Trine men's golf team placed second at the Strimer Memorial Invitational on Sunday afternoon at the Oakhaven Golf Club.

All five of Trine's golfers finished in the top-20 with Grant McKay (Las Vegas, Nev./Coronado) leading the pack taking second. McKay shot one over in his second round to finish the weekend at five over. He was three shots back from Denison's Jonathan Taylor. McKay was named to the all-tournament team.

Ohio Wesleyan took first shooting two strokes lower than the Thunder.

Grant Brettnacher (Brookton, Ind./Harrison) and Todd Mieske (Owosso, Mich./Owosso) tied for fifth shooting seven over the weekend. Brettnacher shaved three strokes off his Saturday scorecard, while Mieske shot one lower.

Joe LeSueur (Northfield Center, Ohio/Trinity) tied for 14th at 15 over, while Nick Knowlton (Bridgman, Mich./Bridgman) was 17 over to place 16th.

The Thunder return to action next weekend when they will compete at the St. Francis Invitational on April 7-8.
