Good Named MIAA Player of the Week

FREELAND, MICH.-- Trine's Tyler Good has been named MIAA Men's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.

Good (Swanton, Ohio/Evergreen) averaged 22.7 points, four rebounds and 2.7 steals in leading the Thunder to a perfect 3-0 performance last week. The senior shot 59.5 percent (22-of-37) from the floor, and hit 21-of-24 free throws (87 percent). Good started the week with a 28-point, six-rebound performance in a win over Franklin. He followed with a 19-point, six-steal effort in a win over Earlham, and a 21-point afternoon to close out the HCAC/MIAA Challenge with a victory over Manchester. Good is being honored as MIAA Player of the Week for the first time this season, and the second time in his career.

Good has started the season strong, ranking second in the MIAA with a 19.8 points per game scoring average. He is shooting 51.8 percent from the field, including the third-best three-point percentage in the league (62.5 percent). The reigning All-MIAA performer is also getting to the free throw line more than anyone else in the league, averaging 8.4 attempts per game and shooting 85.7 percent from the charity stripe. His average of 2.2 steals per game is second in the MIAA.

Trine carries a three-game winning-streak into this Saturday's contest against Illinois Tech. Tip-off in Hershey Hall is scheduled for 3 p.m., or 30 minutes after the conclusion of the preceding women's game against St. Mary's.
