ANGOLA, IND. – The Trine men's ACHA D2 hockey team remained unbeaten after a pair of victories over Davenport University this weekend. On Friday, they came out on top by the score of 7-3. Today, the Thunder posted the 5-0 shutout win.

Freshman Joe Longo (Findlay, Ohio) got the start in net on Friday and made 21 saves while surrendering the three goals to come away with the win.

Freshman forward Brandon Bornkamp (Fort Wayne, Ind.) led the team offensively, finishing the game with a team high four points including two goals and two assists. Sophomore forward Nick Anderson (Sacramento, Calif.) was second on the team with three points including a goal and two assists.

Freshman Adam Conkling (Fort Wayne, Ind.) took over in net on Saturday and turned in the shutout with the 18 save effort.

But the offense was the real story of the game, with the Thunder outshooting the Panthers 54-18. Junior Braeden Pearl (Orignal, Ont.) led the way with three points including two goals and one assist. Freshman forward Niccolo Mombelli (Solothurn, Switzerland) and freshman defenseman Adam Schaffer (Defiance, Ohio) each tallied two points as well.

Trine improves to 25-0-2 on the season and looks poised to retain the first position in the ACHA D2 central region rankings following the two victories. They will look to continue their winning ways next weekend with a pair of games on the road against Robert Morris (Ill.)
