Women's Basketball Summer Shoot-Out
The Trine women's basketball team will host its third annual Summer Shoot-Out Wednesday, Jun. 8.
The one-day, 24-team tournament will begin at 9 a.m. in Trine University's Hershey Hall. Both varsity and JV divisions will be vailable. Registration is limited to the first 24 teams to sign up. All participating teams are guaranteed at least three games. Registration is $175 per team and is due by May 25. Last year's tournament included teams from three states.
Each game will feature two, 20-minute halves. The games will feature a running clock except for the last minute of the first half and last two minutes of the second half. IHSAA-licensed referees will work all games.
Hoosier Basketball Boys Camp
The Trine men's basketball team has announced dates for the Hoosier Basketball Boys Camp this summer.
The overnight camp will be held Sunday, Jul. 10 through Wednesday, Jul. 13 on the campus of Trine University. The camp is open for boys basketball players ages 8-17. Campers will receive individual instruction from the Trine coaching staff in groups based on age and ability. Campers will also have the opportunity to compete in tournament and league games. At the conclusion of the camp, participants will receive a certificate, t-shirt, camp basketball and various camp awards.
Cost of the camp is $295 for overnight campers and $245 for day campers. Overnight campers will stay in air-conditioned, apartment-style housing with counselor supervision.
Group discounts are also being offered for groups of five or more. These groups will receive a discount of $10 per camper.

Trine finished the season 18-9 overall and reached the MIAA Tournament Championship for the first time in program history. Thunder players received numerous accolades including 2015-16 CoSIDA Academic All-American® of the Year, two All-MIAA First Team honors, two D3Hoops.com Team of the Week recognitions and five MIAA Player of the Week awards.
Volleyball Summer Camps
The Trine volleyball program has announced dates for several upcoming camps and clinics, with different options available for different ages and levels of play.
The Thunder will be hosting four summer camps this year. The first of these camps will be Middle School Camp Day, which runs from Tuesday, July 5 through Thursday, July 8. The camp will run from 9 - 11:15 a.m. and 12:30 - 3 p.m. The Middle School Camp is designed to give campers a well-rounded knowledge of the game and will include basic schools, position understanding, technique work and flow of the game. Cost of the camp is $125, or $145 with meals included.
The team will host two camps geared towards high school players. Attack, Setting or Defensive Overnight Camp will be held Friday, July 8 - Saturday, July 9. Participants will receive eight hours of position-specific instruction spread across three sessions. Cost of the camp is $125 for an overnight camper, or $100 for a commuter. Meals are included in the camp fee.
The "Get Ready for Tryouts" camps will run Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28. Position and skill-specific sessions for attacking/blocking, setting and serving/passing/defense will be available. Cost of the camp is $75 for one session, or $125 for two sessions.
The final summer camp will be Youth Camp, geared towards athletes in grades three through six. The evening camp will run from 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, July 25 through Thursday, July 28. The team's most popular camp is designed to introduce young athletes to volleyball in a fun and motivational way.

Lady Thunder Basketball Camp
The Trine women's basketball team has announced dates for its inaugural Lady Thunder Basketball Camp.
The camp will take place between Thursday, July 14 and Saturday, July 16. Sessions will run from 9 a.m. to Noon each day of the camp. The camp will feature instruction from the Thunder coaching staff as well as current team members. Campers will receive instruction in fundamentals and will be grouped by age and ability.
Cost of the camp is $90 per camper. Families can receive a $15 discount for the second member of each family. Returning campers and fall league players are also eligible for the $15 discount.
At the conclusion of the camp, each participant will receive a camp t-shirt as well as camp competition prizes and awards.

The Trine women's basketball team earned its best season as a member of NCAA Division III last season, finishing 19-8 overall and reaching the MIAA Tournament championship game for the first time in program history. The team produced two all-conference performers.
